    “Success is simple. Do what’s right, the right way, at the right time”, was the message that prevailed at the 23rd Annual Prize day of St. Jude’s School. Mr. Stephen DaCosta, Principal, The Frank Anthony Public School, New Delhi was the Chief Guest. Present on the occasion were Mr. R.V. Gardner, Ex-MLA, President, St. Jude’s School, Mrs. V.R. Gardner, Principal, St. Jude’s School, Mr. G.I.G. Mann (MLA, Uttarakhand) & Principal, Carman Residential & Day School, Dalanwala, Col. A.K. Pundir, Principal, Constancia School, Mrs. J. Kumar, Principal, Carman Residential & Day School, Premnagar, Mr. D. Hilton, Principal, Hilton’s School and other esteemed guests. Our Chief Guest Mr. Stephen DaCosta in his address, quoted the UNESCO report ‘Treasury Within’ that the four pillars of education are “Learning to Know, Learning to Do and Learning to Be”; he elaborated on the fourth and the most important pillar of education “Learning to Live Together”. He said that it is the need of the hour - to have Peace, Brotherly Love and Harmony – a good beginning to start with. We, through the education system, the teachers and students can avoid the bitterness that is leading to the loss of values and culture. In his message to the parents, he said that we need to give children our time so that they grow up into good human beings. He advised our students to remain humble and give life one’s best. He spoke extremely highly of the level of achievement a School as young as St. Jude’s School has attained in its short span of 23years. Mrs. V.R. Gardner, Principal, St. Jude’s School in her Annual Report highlighted the cultural and academic achievements of her students. The evening began with the Academic prizes being handed out. JUDE’S SCHOOL (GIRL) AKSHITA LAKHIWAL ARCHIT KOHLI MEMORIAL SHIELD (BEST ALL ROUND STUDENT IN PRIMARY SECTION) RIDHIMA TYAGI (II – A) HOWARD SHIELD (BEST ALL ROUND STUDENT – VI to VIII) KHUSHI KUDIYAL (VII - A) WRIGHT CUP (BEST ALL ROUND BOY STUDENT – IX to XII) RAAHUL SINGH LAWRENCE CUP (BEST ALL ROUND STUDENT – III to V) VINAMRA (V - B) MICHELLE’S CUP FOR EXCELLENCE (BEST ALL ROUND GIRL STUDENT) RASHIKA MALIK THE PRINCIPAL’S CUP ARUSHI VAISH The School toppers of the Commerce and Science Stream along with the other academic prize winners were also felicitated. Students who won laurels at the various National level competitions in the session 2016-17 were also felicitated. The Cultural programme commenced with Ganesh Vandana where the girls with their elegant and graceful movements welcomed all followed by ‘Kehta Hai Mera Ye Dil’. An invocation to God was then presented by our Primary School Students through their “Tu Pyar Ka Sagar...”. They mesmerized everyone with their performance. It was conceived by Mrs. Geeta Kohli and choreographed by Mr. Wilson Lakra, Mrs. Saloni Rawat and Ms. Natasha Paul. Our students of Classes III to V presented a short musical ‘Memories’. This portrayed that the Memories are precious, vivid and heartwarming. One of the best ways to remain happy in the present is to recall the happy and loving memories. The play has been written and directed by Mrs. A. Chaudhary and her team of Junior School Teachers. We still are a God fearing country rather than a God loving country. Everyone today wants shortcut to sort out their problems and seek an easy solution. This portrayed the widespread superstitious beliefs and practices in our society. The play was Written by Mrs. I. Manuel and Directed by Mr. A. Singh, Mrs. N. Chaudhary and Mrs. V. Dhingra. “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to Success”. However charming someone may seem to be, it is not their outside façade you should be looking at, but that lies below it. Portraying this was the Senior School English Play “Journey to Success”. The play has been written by Mrs. J. Aggarwal and Mrs. G. Arya, directed by Mrs. S. Singh and Mrs. R. Saklani. The costumes were created and designed by Mrs. Seema Singh and Mrs. Reema Saklani. The music directed by our music teacher Mr. S. Thapa. Multimedia presentation is done by Ritik Taneja and photography by Avi Arora, students of Class XII. A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. R.V. Gardner, President, St. Jude’s School and thus concluded another memorable day for both our Teachers and Students.
