St. Jude’s School Crowned Champions of the Gardner Premier League 2026–27
The prestigious St. Thomas’ College grounds played host to a spectacular display of cricketing talent as 12 Schools battled for glory in the latest edition of the Gardner Premier League. After days of intense Competition, St. Jude’s School emerged as the undisputed Champions, delivering a flawless performance throughout the Tournament. St. Jude’s School opened their campaign with a statement of intent against the hosts, St. Thomas College. In a display of clinical bowling and sharp fielding, St. Jude’s secured a massive Victory by an inning and 5 runs. The momentum stayed firmly with the St. Jude's side in their second fixture against Carman School. They outclassed their opponents even more convincingly this time, wrapping up the Match with a Win by an inning and 11 runs. As the Tournament moved into the knockout stages, the Competition grew stiffer. St. Jude’s faced a tough challenge from Doon Public School, Bhayaniwalla. In a nail-biting encounter that tested the nerves of both Teams, St. Jude’s managed to defend their total and clinch a narrow 6-run Victory to enter the Finals. The Final showdown saw St. Jude’s School take on The Asian School. The Asian School set a competitive target, but the St. Jude’s batting line-up showed incredible composure. They chased down the total with 4 wickets to spare, sparking celebrations across the campus. While the Victory was a testament to the Team's collective spirit, several players stood out for their exceptional individual contributions. The following athletes were recognized for their pivotal roles in the championship run: Tanvi Chukhiyal, Aadya Tomar, Anaya, Aditi, Deepti and Akshita. The Gardner Premier League once again proved to be a fantastic platform for young talent, and St. Jude’s School has set a high bar for future contenders with their unbeaten streak and tactical brilliance.
