St. Jude’s School Emerged Winners at Valley of Words-Children’s Literature Festival 2026 Him Jyoti School, Dehradun, hosted the Valley of Words Children’s Literature Festival 2026 on the 4th of October 2026. The Festival brought together young readers, performers and creative thinkers from seven Schools across Dehradun. The Event was organised for the Students of Classes 2 to 5. It provided them with an exciting platform to explore books through performance, music, art, storytelling and creative expression. The festival was divided into two categories, the Competitive Category and the Non-Competitive Category. The Competitive Category included Book Enactment with Alternate Ending, Musical Storytelling, Creative Ads, Character Hot Seat – Walk into the Book and Cover Page Redesign. The books for the various events were allotted to the participating Schools. The books selected for the different Events were Amma’s Magic Handbag, The Night Sky, Rain Perfume, Dumroo Man and the Monkey, What’s the Point Kiki? Each School had the opportunity to interpret its allotted book in its own unique and creative manner. The Non-Competitive Category featured Be the Author, that encouraged Children to become storytellers themselves. The Festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from Jaswant Modern School, Him Jyoti School, PYDS, Delhi Public School, St. Jude’s School, Scholars Home and John Martyn Memorial School. St. Jude’s School was represented by Vaishnavi Giri, Siya Sundriyal, Shivansh Chand, Kartikeya Tyagi, Ayurvi Rana, Nevyn Gulati, Lavansh Chamoli, Navya Ishpujani, Athika Singh, Advit Singh Bisht and Ira Bijalwan. The Festival concluded with the announcement of the winners in the various competitive categories. St. Jude’s School emerged winner in Book Enactment with Alternate Ending, with Vaishnavi Giri, Siya Sundriyal, Shivansh Chand, Kartikeya Tyagi, Ayurvi Rana and Ira Bijalwan representing the winning team. Him Jyoti School secured the winning position in Musical Storytelling, while John Martyn Memorial School won Creative Ads. Delhi Public School emerged as the winner in Character Hot Seat – Walk into the Book, and Scholars Home won the Cover Page Redesign category. The Valley of Words - Children’s Literature Festival 2026 was much more than a competition. The various activities encouraged Children to look at books from different perspectives and demonstrated that stories can be read, performed, sung, redesigned and even rewritten. We are grateful to our Principal, Ms. M. Gardner for her constant encouragement and support that truly inspires our young learners to shine.
