Mahatma Gandhi and Shree Lal Bhadur Shastri Jayanti Celebration Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm in the Pre School. The Students were introduced to Mahatma Gandhi, lovingly called Bapu. The Teachers shared simple and interesting stories about his life and taught the Students about his values of truth, kindness, peace and cleanliness. To make the learning enjoyable and meaningful, the Students enacted the Dandi March in a simple and playful manner. This helped them understand an important Event from Gandhiji’s life through role-play. The Students also enjoyed a Gandhi Jayanti colouring worksheet and a creative craft activity in which they made three monkey faces, representing Gandhiji’s message of See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. The Students were also encouraged to follow Gandhiji’s path by keeping their surroundings clean and making them green. They learnt that planting and caring for trees, keeping their Classrooms tidy and taking care of nature are simple ways to make our surroundings clean, green and beautiful. The Students were also introduced to Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose Birth Anniversary is observed on the same day, the 2nd of October. Through simple stories, they learnt about his simple life, honesty, dedication and love for the Country. The celebration was a joyful and enriching learning experience for our little learners, helping them understand the importance of truth, kindness, cleanliness, care for nature and love for our Country.
