Career Counselling Workshop at St. Jude’s School Dreams do not become reality by chance. They demand awareness, effort, adaptability and the courage to act. St. Jude’s School organised a Career Counselling Workshop on the 29th of September 2026, offering more than 200 Students from the Science, Commerce and Humanities Streams an opportunity to explore the rapidly changing World of higher education and careers. The Session was conducted by Mr. Manuj Mittal, who engaged the Students in a thought-provoking and highly relevant interaction on the theme of attitude, aptitude and career choices. The Workshop began with a powerful wake-up call to the Students—Alert, Arise, Adopt and Adapt. Students were encouraged to dream about their future and, more importantly, to understand that dreams require consistent effort to become reality. In a world where young people are increasingly glued to screens, the speaker posed a simple yet striking thought: When Students are constantly occupied with screens, when will they sleep—and when will they dream? The message was clear: Dreams need to be consciously nurtured, followed by purposeful action and perseverance. The Session aimed not merely to inform Students about careers but to make them aware of the choices available to them in an ever-evolving professional landscape. Mr. Mittal highlighted the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on employment, urging Students to develop new skills and remain adaptable to the changing demands of the Workplace. Students were introduced to a wide range of emerging and specialised career pathways. For Science Students, the discussion extended beyond conventional engineering choices to include specialised courses and new-age fields. Commerce Students explored areas such as stock markets, commerce and trade, entrepreneurship and BBA, while Students across Streams were made aware of opportunities in Data Science, CLAT and other emerging disciplines. An important aspect of the Workshop was the emphasis on aptitude and psychometric assessment. Students were encouraged to understand that choosing a career should not simply be influenced by peer pressure, popular trends or parental expectations. It should be based on an honest understanding of one's interests, abilities, aptitude, personality and aspirations. The Session therefore went beyond the question, “What can you become?” It encouraged Students to ask the more fundamental question, “Who am I, and what am I capable of?” The Workshop served as a timely reminder that in today's rapidly transforming world, success requires more than academic achievement. Students need awareness, adaptability, skills, self-knowledge and the willingness to keep learning. The Session equipped them to recognise not only what they can do, but more importantly, what may not align with their abilities and interests. The Workshop proved to be a fruitful and transformative learning experience, opening the Students' minds to the diverse possibilities that lie beyond conventional career choices. Ultimately, the most significant message of the Session was simple yet profound: Before choosing a career, know yourself. Know your aptitude, Know your attitude. Know your strengths, Know your limitations. And then, have the courage to dream—and the determination to work towards making that dream a reality. St. Jude’s School continues to create opportunities that enable its Students to make informed choices, develop a broader vision for their future and step confidently into a world that is constantly evolving.
